Questions We Get a Lot
A louvered pergola features an adjustable aluminum roof that lets you control sunlight, ventilation, and rain coverage on demand — ideal for year-round outdoor living. A wood pergola, typically crafted from cedar or similar hardwoods, offers a more natural, traditional aesthetic with an open trellis roof that provides partial shade and a classic architectural look. Your choice largely comes down to how much weather control you want versus the warmth of natural materials.
Most of our pergolas are designed for homeowner assembly using included hardware, step-by-step instructions, and standard tools. Assembly complexity varies by size and model, so we recommend reviewing the product description and any included documentation before you begin. If you have questions about a specific pergola's assembly process, our team is happy to help before your purchase.
Aluminum pergolas are engineered specifically for outdoor exposure — they resist rust, corrosion, and UV degradation far better than untreated wood or steel. Many feature reinforced frames and integrated drainage systems that channel rainwater away from your patio or deck efficiently. For areas with heavy snow loads or extreme wind, we recommend reviewing each product's load rating listed in the specifications.
We offer Free Shipping on Most Orders Within the Continental U.S. (Excludes AK/HI), so your pergola arrives without added freight costs in most cases. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, our 30-Day Returns policy gives you time to evaluate your order after it arrives. About Our Pergolas
A pergola is one of the most impactful additions you can make to an outdoor living space. Whether freestanding in a garden or anchored to a home's exterior, a well-chosen pergola creates a defined area for dining, entertaining, or simply unwinding beneath open skies. They come in a range of materials — from warm, natural hardwoods that bring an organic, timeless quality to powder-coated aluminum frames engineered for low maintenance and long-term weather resistance. Some designs feature fixed roofs for consistent shade, while others offer adjustable louvers that let you dial in the amount of sunlight and airflow throughout the day. When choosing a pergola, consider how you plan to use the space: a compact design suits an intimate deck setting, while a larger span accommodates full outdoor dining sets or lounge arrangements. Roof style, frame material, drainage capability, and overall footprint are all worth evaluating alongside your existing outdoor aesthetic. A pergola is ultimately an investment in how you experience your home — one that earns its value every time you step outside.
